Elixir has been the theme of 2018 for us at NewAperio as we focus more of our time working in the language. Throughout 2017 we invested a lot of our 20% time in educating ourselves on the language, building internal projects, and contributing back to various open source projects. After establishing expertise in Elixir, we're now building most of our web projects in 2018 in Elixir, and plan to make it the focus of our server development for the foreseeable future.
As we've gotten more ingrained in the community, we've been looking for ways to give back. We started by giving some talks (one, an intro earlier this year, the other a deployment deep dive in just a few weeks) this year to spread the good news of Elixir, but wanted to do more. So when the opportunity to sponsor Elixir Forum came up, we immediately jumped on the chance.
Elixir Forum is pretty much the go-to place for the community at large to ask questions, talk about what's new, and debate the future direction of the language. It was an invaluable resource as I got started with Elixir. There's just such a wealth of information there that's growing every day.
I'm happy that we're sponsoring the Forum through the end of next year and hope to be a part of others' journeys into the beautiful purple world of Elixir.
And of course, as always, if you need help with your Elixir project, please reach out!
